As such, we’re delighted to see that Sonar’s handling of virtual instruments has been tidied up via the introduction of instrument tracks. These three additions reinforce the Producer Edition’s standing as the best DAW for virtual instruments. Even so, it’s a valuable addition to the bundled plug-ins, and its bright tone is balanced by a mellower grand piano among Dimension Pro’s presets. We also found that the sustain part of notes (presumably the physically modelled element) weren’t quite as satisfying as the initial transients. It sounds rich and full-bodied, although the upfront tone resembles what you would hear by sticking your head inside a piano, and will be too abrasive for gentler forms of music. So if I save them maybe the project will just open in sonar 8.5. It has a modest collection of samples – the entire plug-in is just 120MB – but uses physical modelling to recreate the complex tone of a grand piano. Now that I have adjusted the Plugin Manager, maybe the next project will open, as it should be able to find the vsti. The third new virtual instrument is TruePianos Amber. Yet to dismiss it would be a mistake, because the TTS1 has a number of really useful mobile-friendly features.

I'm working on a fairly large project at the moment using mainly vst instruments. TTS1 is over 14 years old, still on version 1.00 and comes bundled free with BandLab. Sonar 8 is loaded onto the primary drive, but all files and sessions are saved to another drive that currently has 96GB of free space.

I can't say if they are new or if you have ever seen them, though. I have a Quad core PC system with over 3TB of overall storage.
Chernobyl Studios Withered Moments, Geoff Manchester Virtue, Sophia Jane Living For Now and True Sound Studios Happy Go Lucky. Then again, Stylus Xpanded costs £220 so the comparison isn’t entirely fair. With the start screen open, there should be a list of Demo Projects at the bottom. Overall, Beatscape is a poor substitute for Spectrasonics Stylus Xpanded in both its interface and sonic palette.
